DTIIF 2026 Concludes with Strategic Partnerships to Advance Indonesia’s Industrial Development

Drawing more than 3,000 participants and over 200 speakers, the Danantara Technology Innovation Investment Forum delivered research collaborations spanning energy to transportation, including electric vehicles

Jakarta, 30 October 2026 – Danantara Indonesia officially concluded the three-day Danantara Technology Innovation Investment Forum (DTIIF) 2026 at Fairmont Jakarta on Wednesday, 28 October 2026. Bringing together more than 3,000 participants, the forum served not merely as a platform for discussions, but as a catalyst for a series of strategic partnerships spanning research, energy, digital infrastructure, and transportation, including electric vehicles.

In his closing remarks, Sigit Puji Santosa, Chief Technology Officer of Danantara Indonesia and Chair of DTIIF 2026, emphasized that the signing of agreements marked only the beginning. He drew a connection between the forum’s spirit of collaboration and Indonesia’s Youth Pledge Day (Hari Sumpah Pemuda), which coincided with the closing day of DTIIF.

“In 1928, young people from different backgrounds came together, united by a shared spirit and aspiration to build Indonesia’s future. Nearly a century later, that same spirit of unity, collaboration, and determination remains just as relevant. To that end, Danantara Indonesia seeks to carry forward the spirit of the Youth Pledge by bringing together diverse ideas, expertise, and resources to collectively build a more advanced future for Indonesia,” Sigit said.

From Discussions to Strategic Partnerships

Throughout the forum, multiple partnerships were formed between Danantara Indonesia and technology providers, companies, universities, research institutions, and the state-owned enterprise (SOE) ecosystem, both nationally and internationally.

On the first day, Danantara Indonesia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, the Ministry of Industry, and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) to strengthen national synergy in connecting research agendas, talent development, industry needs, funding mechanisms, and strategic investment opportunities. The collaboration is expected to accelerate the uptake and downstream application of research and innovation, strengthen industrial technological capabilities, and enhance national competitiveness on the path toward a knowledge- and technology-driven economy.

Danantara Indonesia also signed an MoU with BRIN and 32 universities to build a national research, academic, and industry partnership platform that brings research outcomes closer to business and industry needs. Through this partnership, research is expected to deliver practical solutions that strengthen Indonesia’s growth and competitiveness.

Separately, Danantara Development Management Fund (DDMF), Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Indofarma, and PT EBM Saintifik dan Teknologi agreed to develop kratom-based phytopharmaceuticals, with a focus on advancing the commercialization of healthcare research. DDMF is also exploring a collaboration with Thermo Fisher Scientific on life-science technology to strengthen Indonesia’s research and healthcare industry capabilities.

Several agreements involving SOEs also targeted key areas of industrial development:

  • Digital infrastructure: Telkom Indonesia and PLN are working together to align data center development plans with power supply readiness, so that expansion is backed by adequate energy supply. The partnership links both parties’ planning in phases, allowing data center capacity and power provision to grow in step.

  • Electric vehicles: LEN, PLN, and Pertamina Patra Niaga agreed to strengthen the National Electric Motorcycle (Molinas) ecosystem, covering supporting infrastructure, energy supply, and deployment.

  • Renewable energy: Pertamina New & Renewable Energy and Agrinas Palma signed a Heads of Agreement for the planned development and operation of a fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) biodiesel production facility in Indragiri Hilir, Riau. The partnership aims to strengthen downstream biofuel production capacity and Indonesia’s energy security.

Additional partnerships covered the maritime and steel industries, cybersecurity and post-quantum cryptography, biotechnology, and robotics, expanding opportunities for cross-sector technology collaboration.

Three Days in Numbers

Over three days, DTIIF 2026 featured a total of 274 speakers and moderators across 7 Distinguished Lecture sessions, 21 plenary sessions, 38 panel sessions and pitching/showcase sessions involving SOEs, young researchers, and tech-based startups. Two of the Distinguished Lecture sessions were delivered by Nobel laureates in economics Peter Howitt and Thomas J. Sargent on technology-based economic growth and AI as an accelerator. The sectoral panels and collaboration sessions focused on technology development opportunities across 6 strategic sectors: energy; telecommunications and digital infrastructure; agriculture, food, and healthcare; advanced materials and semiconductors; finance and banking; and transportation and infrastructure.

DTIIF 2026 was structured around 3 stages: Imagine, Advance, and Build. “These 3 stages, from frontier technology and technological advancement to sustainable industry, represent our themes, objectives, and focus at Danantara,” Sigit said.

Following the forum, Danantara Indonesia will oversee the agreements through to implementation, with the aim of translating the partnerships into stronger technological capabilities, industrial competitiveness, and sustainable economic growth. Danantara Indonesia will also continue this momentum at the inaugural New Asia Forum (NAF), to be held in Bali on 3–4 December 2026, expanding strategic collaboration and investment to the wider Asian region.
