Davos, January 23, 2026 - President Prabowo Subianto of the Republic of Indonesia introduced Danantara Indonesia to the global community in his keynote speech at World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, Switzerland. President Prabowo asserted Danantara Indonesia's role as Indonesia's strategic instrument to drive and support the future strength of the national economy.

In his speech, President Prabowo said that Danantara Indonesia means the energy that powers the future of Indonesia. Launched in February 2025, Danantara Indonesia is Indonesia's sovereign fund managing US$1 trillion in assets.

"With Danantara, I can stand here in front of you as an equal partner. Indonesia is now not only a peaceful and stable country but is more and more a land of opportunity. Once again, I emphasize that I am confident our economic growth will be very significant and will surprise many in the world. With Danantara, Indonesia is now ready to be your partner. We will invest together and grow with you," said President Prabowo.

President Prabowo stressed that Danantara Indonesia was established as a strategic instrument to realize the development of critical industries while also carrying out real and significant industrialization. Danantara Indonesia is managed with strong oversight and clear institutional responsibility, and is led by the best human resources. Currently, Danantara Indonesia manages around 1,044 state-owned enterprises (BUMN), which will be gradually brought down to around 300 companies.

"We will rationalize, we will get rid of inefficiency. We want the best governance and management in accordance with international standards. We want the best brains and minds in the world," President Prabowo concluded.

Danantara Indonesia Promotes Patient Capital and Global Partnerships

Meanwhile, at the WEF 2026 dialogue session entitled "Investors and the Patience Premium," Danantara Indonesia CIO Pandu Patria Sjahrir said that sovereign wealth funds now play an increasingly important role in the global financial system as a source of patient capital and low-cost capital.

According to Pandu, Danantara Indonesia was established with an approach that mirrors the practices of the world's largest sovereign wealth funds, focusing on sustainable returns without pressure to exit in the short term, thereby enabling long-term partnerships in strategic sectors that have a broad impact on society.

Pandu pointed out that Danantara Indonesia applies an investment strategy that balances domestic and global markets with a focus on sectors that can improve the welfare of the Indonesian people such as health and digital infrastructure while strengthening international partnerships.

Pandu added that amid global geopolitical dynamics, international partnerships are becoming increasingly relevant and are being implemented with a more direct and focused approach. According to him, collaboration is now largely built through more intense bilateral relations and one-on-one dialogue to address the needs of each party.

"Business must go on. Ultimately, we all have to adapt, but the most important thing is that we must continue to move forward. And the only way to move forward is through partnerships," Pandu stressed.

Indonesia and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Sign Agreement to Advance Energy, Infrastructure, and Logistics Sectors

On January 22, 2026, in Davos, Danantara Indonesia and the Ministry of Investment of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan signed a framework agreement to strengthen cross-border investment. The agreement, which was officially signed at the Indonesia Pavilion, paves the way for investment partnerships in strategic sectors, including energy, infrastructure, and transnational logistics. The framework provides a basis for both parties to collaborate on projects that improve connectivity, promote sustainable development, and support long-term economic growth in both countries.

Danantara Indonesia CEO Rosan Roeslani emphasized Danantara Indonesia's commitment to facilitating productive dialogue and impactful partnerships at the World Economic Forum. "Partnerships such as the one established today with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan are one of the main reasons we are here in Davos, underscoring the importance of placing Indonesia on the global stage. We are optimistic that this initial framework will strengthen relations between Indonesia and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, transforming our shared vision into investments that will create tangible economic impact for both parties."

Jordan's Minister of Investment Dr. Tareq Abu Ghazaleh emphasized that the signing of the framework agreement in Davos reflects Jordan's vision of future-oriented economic modernization and the country's commitment to expanding strategic cooperation and long-term partnerships with leading global institutions. He said that the collaboration with Danantara Indonesia opens up new opportunities for cross-border investment in priority sectors, strengthens connectivity and the economies of both parties, and supports the development of scalable and impactful projects.

According to him, the agreement is an important step in mobilizing capital, encouraging innovation, creating quality jobs, and generating long-term sustainable value for Jordan and Indonesia.

Following the signing of the agreement, both parties plan to further explore investment opportunities in these sectors and will announce the details in due course, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
