JAKARTA, 10 December 2025 - Post-disaster recovery efforts in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra have received significant support from the BUMN Family through the BUMN Peduli (SOEs Care) program. Under the coordination of Danantara Indonesia and the BUMN Supervisory Agency (BP BUMN), the total amount of contributions collected, including infrastructure recovery support, as of Wednesday, 10 December 2025, has exceeded Rp 72 billion. Of the total, Rp 13 billion was raised at the 100 Musisi Heal Sumatra charity concert held on Sunday, 7 December 2025, as part of BUMN's commitment to helping accelerate recovery across Sumatra.
The amount of contributions represented the combined contributions from BUMN for the three affected provinces as well as other forms of support garnered through public solidarity initiatives. The assistance delivered included emergency logistics, ready-to-eat meals, hygiene kits, medicines, blankets and shelter items, clean water, the deployment of healthcare personnel and medium-term recovery support, including repairs to public facilities. The aid was distributed by the respective BUMN in coordination with local governments and field agencies.
Danantara Indonesia CEO Rosan Roeslani stressed that BUMN Peduli was a tangible form of collaboration between the public sector and communities. "This is a collective effort of the entire BUMN Family, strengthened by public solidarity. Our responsibility is to ensure that all contributions from the public and BUMN are distributed responsibly and reach the people who need them most," he said.
BP BUMN Head and Danantara Indonesia COO Dony Oskaria also highlighted the moral obligation of BUMN to be present in times of crisis. "BUMN belong to the people, and for that reason we must stand with communities whenever disaster strikes. We have called on all BUMN to provide maximum support according to their capabilities and to give regular progress reports on their assistance," he said.
Dony added that BP BUMN and Danantara Indonesia play a central role in consolidating reports and ensuring an orderly and measurable cross-BUMN coordination. "Our task is to ensure that the assistance from the BUMN Family is delivered quickly, in a coordinated manner, and genuinely benefit affected residents," he stated.
Restoring Electricity Networks
Flash floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra have severely disrupted power distribution lines, cutting off power to hospitals, evacuation shelters, and public service centers. In response, PLN has taken a frontline role in restoring the main grid and providing emergency power supply.
In Aceh Tamiang, PLN transported a 66,000-watt generator from Langsa to ensure power supply for the RSUD Muda Sedia regional hospital and evacuation centers. PLN also restored power to the Tamiang Sport Center to support evacuation, logistics, and resident data processing. PLN also deployed a 33,000-watt generator for the local water utility (PDAM) to restore clean water services and prepared a 100,000-watt generator from Banda Aceh to maintain public and government operations. In Central Aceh, working with BNPB and the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI), PLN deployed a helicopter to airlift a 250 kVA (3.6-ton) generator to RSUD Datu Beru as all land routes were cut off. This rapid intervention became a lifeline for healthcare services and ensured critical operations continued during the emergency period.
Restoring Communication Services
Widespread telecommunication disruptions caused by water damaged active equipment, severed backbone and feeder cables, and damage to tens of thousands of ONTs threatened evacuation coordination and humanitarian logistics. Telkom launched an emergency recovery effort across the three provinces, prioritizing areas such as Kualasimpang, Langsa, Takengon, and Sibolga as key public communication hubs.
Through Telkom Akses, recovery work has been carried out simultaneously: backbone repairs, temporary network fixes, powering critical equipment with portable generators, and deploying more than 320 technical personnel from Aceh, Medan, West Sumatra, North Sumatra, as well as additional teams from Java, Kalimantan, Jakarta, and South Sumatra. Restoring communication stability has been essential for accelerating aid distribution, improving emergency command systems, and ensuring residents can access crucial information during the disaster.
Clean Water Provision and Fuel Supply
Pertamina plays a vital role in maintaining stable energy and logistics supply chains during emergencies. The company has secured fuel supply for heavy machinery, evacuation vehicles, and emergency equipment across the three provinces. Pertamina has also opened distribution routes to isolated areas and activated its Pertamina Siaga scheme to prevent energy shortages.
In addition, Pertamina expanded its support by distributing 45,000 liters of potable water to areas facing severe shortages, including Aceh Tamiang. Access to clean water is critical for public health, communal kitchens, basic sanitation, and displaced residents in isolated locations. The combination of fuel supply, energy stabilization, and water distribution forms a core foundation for early recovery while keeping essential public services running amid the floods and landslides.
In closing, Rosan and Dony reaffirmed BUMN Family's full commitment to supporting recovery in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. They underscored the importance of strong cross-BUMN coordination to ensure aid is delivered swiftly and accurately while keeping public needs at the center of every effort. Both executives stressed that Danantara Indonesia and BP BUMN will continue overseeing the recovery process until public services and daily activities are fully restored.
