Danantara Indonesia Trust Debuts Three Partnerships Targeting Health, Education, and Cultural Literacy

Jakarta, 25 May 2026 – Danantara Indonesia Trust (DIT), the independent philanthropic foundation of Danantara Indonesia, today signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with three partners: the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Karya Salemba Empat, and Indonesia Heritage Agency. This marks the launch of DIT's first strategic partnerships across its priority impact areas namely health and education.

The signing ceremony, held at Wisma Danantara Indonesia in Jakarta, was witnessed by Advisor to Danantara Indonesia Trust and Danantara Indonesia CEO Rosan Roeslani; Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Budi Gunadi Sadikin; Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Fadli Zon; Founder of Didit Hediprasetyo Foundation Didit Hediprasetyo; and Founder of Karya Salemba Empat Tatan A. Taufik.

Rosan Roeslani, Advisor to Danantara Indonesia Trust and CEO of Danantara Indonesia, said, "Danantara Indonesia was founded not only to manage state assets and investments, but to contribute to Indonesia's broader social progress. Through Danantara Indonesia Trust, we are extending our mission to strengthen human capital and address key social challenges, reflecting our belief that long-term value must go hand in hand with meaningful impact for our society."

Three Partnerships, One Purpose for Indonesia

The three partnerships announced today reflect a comprehensive approach to improving the quality of life for the people of Indonesia:

The partnership with the Ministry of Health focuses on improving maternal and child health and nutrition, including the provision of hexavalent vaccines to protect millions of children from multiple infectious diseases, strengthening vaccine cold chain infrastructure, and the provision of Multiple Micronutrient Supplements to support maternal health and childbirth outcomes and reduce stunting.

Indonesia continues to face health and nutrition challenges. Although the coverage rate for the full series of basic immunizations reached 80.2% in 2025, nearly 960,000 zero-dose children have not received any immunizations at all (WHO & UNICEF, 2026). According to estimates by the UN Inter-agency Group for Child Mortality, the child mortality rate in Indonesia has been reduced from approximately 51 per 1,000 live births in 2000 to about 17 per 1,000 live births in 2024. However, the Maternal Mortality Rate remains at 189 per 100,000 births (BPS, 2020), one of the highest in ASEAN. Meanwhile, the prevalence of stunting (chronic malnutrition) decreased from about 37 percent in 2013 to 19.8 percent in 2024, but the prevalence of wasting (acute malnutrition) remains at 7.4 percent (Indonesian Nutritional Status Survey, 2024).

The partnership with Karya Salemba Empat includes a three-year scholarship program for approximately 500 underprivileged university students across Indonesia, covering mentoring, leadership development, and career readiness programs. This initiative remains critical, given that approximately one-fifth of Indonesian youth aged 15–24 are not in school, employment, or training (NEET, 2025). At the same time approximately 4.1 million children and adolescents aged 7–18 are not in school.

The partnership with the Indonesia Heritage Agency centres on the development of the Danantara Indonesia Trust Library at Museum Nasional, designed to expand public access to cultural knowledge. By integrating education and culture, the initiative is expected to create long-term impact on cultural literacy and access.

Nuraini Razak, Chairperson of Danantara Indonesia Trust, said, "Each partnership announced today was carefully chosen to address some of Indonesia's most pressing development needs, including maternal and child health, access to quality education, and cultural literacy. Together with our partners, these initiatives will form the foundation of DIT's role as a platform that mobilizes collective action, scales solutions, and delivers meaningful impact across Indonesia."

Moving forward, Danantara Indonesia Trust will focus on launching its catalytic programs, strengthening partnerships with global institutions, and expanding co-funding opportunities to maximize the impact of its resources.
