Danantara Investment Management Announces Results of the Selected Providers List (DPT) for Prospective Partners in Waste-to-Energy (WtE) Projects

Jakarta, 22 May 2026 — Danantara Investment Management has announced the participants that have successfully passed the selection process for the Daftar Penyedia Terseleksi (Selected Provider List/ "DPT") for the selection of business entity partners as Developers and Operators of Environmentally Friendly Technology-Based Waste-to-Energy Processing Facilities ("BUPP PSEL") on 21 May 2026. This marks the second batch of registration following the initial partner selection conducted in Bekasi, Greater Bogor, and Greater Denpasar.

Previously, Danantara Indonesia had invited both domestic and international business entities with relevant experience, capacity, and capabilities in developing WtE projects to participate in the establishment of the DPT. The DPT serves as a prequalification pool for companies that meet the required criteria to participate in future project development. Companies listed in the DPT will become part of a pool of prospective partners to be considered for subsequent WtE project development stages in Indonesia.

In total, the second batch of the DPT comprises 85 entities. This batch includes new companies and consortia, and also participants from the first batch. The increase from 24 participants in the first batch to 85 in the second batch reflects strong interest and confidence from industry players in the WtE program, which will be managed by PT Daya Energi Bersih Nusantara (Denera), a subsidiary of DIM.

The second batch DPT also demonstrates increased global participation, with companies and consortia from various countries, including Indonesia, Singapore, India, South Korea, China, Japan, and France. This broader participation enriches the range of technology options, financing structures, and partnership models in the development of WtE projects.

Strong participation from domestic companies is also evident in this second batch, with 16 local companies included within the DPT consortia. This reflects the readiness of the national industry to play a greater role in the development of WtE infrastructure, in line with the mandate of Presidential Regulation No. 109 of 2025 to ensure the involvement of domestic players in this large-scale waste management development.

Fadli Rahman, CEO of Denera and Director of Investment at DIM, stated, "The increase in participants from both domestic and international players demonstrates that the WtE program has strong investment appeal and is being implemented with credible governance. We remain committed to ensuring the entire WtE partner selection process is conducted in a transparent and competitive manner, resulting in partners capable of supporting integrated waste management and contributing to addressing Indonesia's waste management challenges."

As the next step, DIM will issue the Terms of Reference (ToR) to participants that have successfully passed the DPT BUPP PSEL selection and will provide further information regarding the schedule and procedures for subsequent stages through a separate announcement.

The list of the 85 entities selected in the second wave DPT for the WtE project is available on the official Danantara Indonesia website here.
