Amman, Jordan, 11 December 2025 - Danantara Indonesia, through its investment arm Danantara Investment Management (DIM), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Jordan Investment Fund (JIF) to initiate structured collaboration on strategic investment opportunities across the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The MoU was signed by Pandu Sjahrir, Chief Investment Officer of Danantara Indonesia and the CEO of the Jordan Investment Fund. The ceremony was witnessed by Rosan Roeslani, Chief Executive Officer of Danantara Indonesia, alongside Jordan's Minister of Investment, H.E. Dr. Tareq Abu Ghazaleh.
This partnership forms the basis for exploring co-investment pathways and assessing opportunities in priority sectors, ranging from infrastructure, urban development, transport, energy transition, to digital and technology-driven projects. The agreement also opens the door for deeper cooperation in project development, investment structuring, and knowledge exchange between the two sovereign institutions.
The signing took place as part of a full working day hosted by the Ministry of Investment of Jordan, bringing together senior officials and sectoral leaders from both countries. Discussions covered mechanisms for long-term cooperation, opportunities for operational collaboration, and the potential for sovereign-to-sovereign partnerships that align with national development agendas. Ministers responsible for Public Works and Housing, Transport, Energy and Mineral Resources, and Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship outlined Jordan's strategic project pipeline, emphasizing how international partnerships such as this one can accelerate the Kingdom's development goals.
Commenting on the collaboration, Rosan Roeslani, CEO, Danantara Indonesia, "Today's signing marks an important milestone in the relationship between Indonesia and Jordan. Danantara welcomes the opportunity to work alongside the Jordan Investment Fund in identifying strategic projects that deliver long-term value and contribute to shared economic progress."
He added that Jordan's track record in maintaining a stable investment climate and its clear national development priorities make it a strong partner for cooperation. "We see this collaboration as the beginning of a broader, multi-phase engagement where both countries can work hand in hand to unlock new areas of growth."
Jordan's Minister of Investment, H.E. Dr. Tareq Abu Ghazaleh, welcomed the collaboration, noting that the initiative follows the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, particularly after his recent visit to Indonesia, where opportunities for deeper engagement with Danantara Indonesia were highlighted. He underscored Jordan's strategic advantages, including its skilled human capital, natural resources, geographic position, and enabling regulatory environment, which together create a strong foundation for major investment projects and sustainable partnerships.
The MoU lays the groundwork for a structured, multi-phase collaboration between Danantara Indonesia and the Jordan Investment Fund. Both institutions will begin a coordinated process to evaluate high-potential investment opportunities across several of Jordan's priority sectors. This includes identifying strategic development projects, aligning investment objectives, and conducting detailed feasibility studies to ensure that each initiative carries both economic value and long-term developmental impact.
Beyond project exploration, the MoU also paves the way for deeper institutional cooperation. The two sovereign funds will exchange expertise in investment management, governance, and project development, while strengthening operational coordination on future joint ventures. This approach reflects Danantara Indonesia's broader international engagement strategy and reinforces its long-term mandate to catalyze impactful investments, crowd in global partnerships, and contribute to Indonesia's role in shaping regional economic cooperation.
"We believe this collaboration will evolve into a meaningful, long-term partnership that supports Jordan's development ambitions while creating new avenues of value for Indonesia. This agreement is not the final destination, it is the starting point for a wider strategic engagement that will continue to grow in scale and significance over time," said Rosan in closing.
