Jakarta, 7 May 2026 - Danantara Indonesia held the SOE Digital Transformation Coordination Meeting as a strategic forum to align the vision, policy direction, and work plans for digital transformation across the entire SOE ecosystem. This forum initiative aims to support the implementation of President of the Republic of Indonesia's Asta Cita agenda through the acceleration of digital transformation within the SOE ecosystem, directed at strengthening national digital sovereignty as well as driving the industrialization of Indonesian digital products.
The meeting was led by Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Danantara Indonesia, Sigit Puji Santosa, and attended by approximately 60 major SOE holding companies from various strategic sectors. Through coordinated collaboration and synergy, the digital transformation of SOEs is expected to be more measurable, effective, and deliver a direct impact on improving operational and business performance.
The digital transformation driven by Danantara Indonesia encompasses a comprehensive strengthening of business models, customer experience, operating models, technology infrastructure, as well as data governance and utilization. Danantara Indonesia seeks to ensure that digital transformation does not stop at the planning level, but produces tangible performance improvements in each SOE.
Through the consolidation and integration of platforms and technologies, as well as the utilization of shared capabilities, the transformation is also aimed at strengthening synergy among SOEs. In certain areas with high levels of duplication — such as technology spending, digital infrastructure, licensing, and shared services — adopting synergy has the potential to generate efficiency with initial estimates reaching 25–40%, depending on the characteristics and readiness of each SOE.
At the Coordination Meeting, Sigit Puji Santosa Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Danantara Indonesia emphasized the importance of a coordinated digital transformation approach across the entire SOE ecosystem : "Danantara Indonesia has a central role in aligning direction, platforms, talent, and governance so that every digital initiative across SOEs does not run in isolation, but is able to generate efficiency, performance improvement, and collective added value for the nation. This alignment serves as a critical foundation for strengthening SOE competitiveness amid increasingly rapid technological change and industry dynamics."
Danantara Indonesia also recognizes that rapid technological developments — particularly in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Advanced Analytics, Post-Quantum Readiness, and cybersecurity — demand that SOEs adapt as quickly as possible. This forum serves as an initial step in charting the direction and process of adopting frontier technologies to improve productivity, the quality of decision-making, and the creation of new innovations relevant to industry needs.
The development of digital talent was also a key agenda item, given that Indonesia requires approximately an additional 600,000 digital talents per year through 2030 (Ministry of Communications & Digital Affairs, 2025). Using a "Triple Helix" model, Danantara Indonesia continues to strengthen synergy between industry, government, and academia to accelerate talent development, research, and the commercialization of national innovation.
In addition, Danantara Indonesia is also driving the development of strategic domestic technologies such as sovereign AI, sovereign cloud, and other future technologies to strengthen national capabilities. These technologies are expected not only to improve productivity and performance across the SOE ecosystem, but also to strengthen "Indonesia Inc." through enhanced collaboration between Danantara Indonesia, SOEs, government, academia, and other industry players.
The Digital Transformation will be carried out in phases, starting with a digital readiness assessment across all SOEs and building a collaborative foundation within the first six months. This will be followed by the implementation of an integrated digital roadmap through the Danantara Digital Transformation Task Force as a shared governance mechanism, from the Danantara Indonesia level through to all SOEs. Through this mechanism, the execution of transformation can be monitored more clearly, measurably, and accountably, while also opening space for mutual support in key areas such as auditability, financial management, data and systems integration, and operational performance improvement.
