Danantara Indonesia Strengthens Coordinating Role in Hajj Economic Ecosystem Initiative

Jakarta, 13 December 2025 - Danantara Indonesia, through Danantara Investment Management (DIM), joined a focus group discussion (FGD) entitled "Towards a Sustainable Hajj and Umrah Economic Ecosystem" organized by the Presidential Staff Office in Jakarta on 10 December. Danantara Indonesia was represented by Danantara Investment Management Managing Director of Finance Djamal Attamimi. Danantara's participation was part of the process of examination of and dialogue on the development of Indonesia's hajj and umrah economic ecosystem.
"The forum is an important platform to create a common perspective among stakeholders. Danantara Indonesia's participation in the FGD was part of an initial phase of the process of seeking better understanding of policy needs, regulatory frameworks, and potential areas of synergy that may be further explored with due care," Djamal said.
Danantara Indonesia confirmed that it will continue to coordinate efforts with relevant ministries, institutions and stakeholders in accordance with their respective mandates, including with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH).
With this in mind, Pandu Patria Sjahrir, Chief Investment Officer of Danantara Indonesia, emphasized the importance of a phased and collaborative approach for cross-sector strategic initiatives. “The development of the hajj economic ecosystem is a multi-sector agenda that requires prudence and harmonized policies. Danantara Indonesia believes that coordination among ministries and institutions is a fundamental prerequisite before considering any further step,” Pandu noted.
Through its participation in the FGD, Danantara Indonesia supported the government’s efforts to establish a sustainable policy framework for the development of the hajj and umrah economic ecosystem while upholding the principles of good governance, prudence, and the best interests of pilgrims.
