Danantara Indonesia and China Investment Corporation Launch Strategic Investment Partnership to Drive ASEAN-China Growth

Jakarta, 25 May 2025 – Danantara Indonesia and China Investment Corporation (CIC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore joint investment opportunities across sectors in Indonesia, ASEAN, and the People's Republic of China. The MOU marks a significant step in deepening investment cooperation between the two nations and building long-term platforms for economic development.
This MOU establishes a framework for potential joint investments between Danantara Indonesia and CIC, aiming to deliver measurable development impact and optimal, risk- adjusted returns. A key pillar of the agreement is the mutual exploration of a China– ASEAN investment platform, a proposed investment fund that will operate under a broad mandate across sectors such as industrial manufacturing, consumer goods, healthcare, and technology where both countries have immense potential that can be further capitalised.
The collaboration between CIC and Danantara Indonesia is a natural convergence of shared priorities: CIC, with its mandate to deploy China’s foreign exchange reserves through diversified global investments, and Danantara Indonesia, with its role as the long- term engine for reinvestment of Indonesia’s state assets into future-oriented industries.
Rosan Roeslani, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Danantara Indonesia, emphasized the transformative potential of this collaboration, “We believe this partnership is more than financial alignment—it’s a shared commitment to reshaping the economic landscape of our region. With over 800 SOEs in our portfolio, Danantara Indonesia is ready to lead the way in mobilizing strategic capital for green industry, food security, and digital transformation. This is how we build the future economy of Indonesia—and strengthen our role on the global stage”
