Riyadh, February 11, 2026 - Danantara Indonesia, through PT Danantara Investment Management, is exploring a strategic partnership with Rua Al Madinah Holding, a company under the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF), to explore investment opportunities in the development of the Rua Al Madinah and Dar Al Hijrah projects.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed during the PIF Private Sector Forum 2026, which is taking place on February 9-10 in Riyadh. The forum served as a key platform to bring together global investors, PIF portfolio companies, and strategic partners to open up opportunities for collaboration and strengthen the private sector's contribution to economic development.
For Danantara Indonesia, this collaboration is part of its broader efforts to build a enduring foundation for Indonesian Hajj pilgrim services through an integrated, sustainable, and relevant service ecosystem that will last generations.
Djamal Attamimi, Managing Director of Finance at Danantara Investment Management, emphasized that this partnership is a strategic step to ensure that Indonesian Hajj services continue to develop with global standards.
"The cooperation with Rua Al Madinah Holding supports our goal to build a lasting foundation for Hajj services. This is not just a project, but a national endeavor to ensure the quality of services for Indonesian pilgrims continues to improve, is integrated, and is sustainable across generations," said Djamal.
He added that the development of the Hajj Complex is intended as an integrated service ecosystem that encapsulates worship, health, protection, assistance, and operational support, with pilgrims at the center of every plan.
"We see this development as a long-term responsibility. Danantara Indonesia is here as a catalyst that ensures the infrastructure and services for pilgrims are managed professionally, transparently, and with a focus on sustainability," he continued.
Meanwhile, Rua Al Madinah Holding welcomed the collaboration with Danantara Indonesia as part of its efforts to expand international investment partnerships, particularly in areas that enhance the experience of pilgrims and visitors to Madinah.
Naif Al Hamdan, Rua Al Madinah Holding Chairman, stated, "We are pleased to participate in the PIF Private Sector Forum 2026, in support of empowering the private sector as one of the key catalysts of our country's comprehensive development. Signing the Memorandum of Understanding during the Forum reflects our commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships, opening investment horizons for the private sector locally, regionally, and globally, and exploring cooperation opportunities across our projects, while reaffirming the Forum's role as a platform for launching major national projects."
Ahmed Al Juhani, Chief Executive Officer of Rua Al Madinah Holding, added, "The MoU with Danantara Indonesia represents an important step in advancing the company's direction to expand its investment partnerships and explore cooperation opportunities, enhancing integration between the investment and operational aspects of our projects. We look forward to working together to achieve Rua Al Madinah Holding's strategic objectives."
Rua Al Madinah Holding is one of PIF's companies in the real estate development and investment sector. The company is developing diverse and comprehensive development and investment projects in Madinah, contributing to facilitating the reception of millions of visitors and enriching their cultural experience in line with the objectives of the Pilgrims Experience Program.
For Indonesia - as a country with the largest number of pilgrims in the world - this collaboration reflects its strategic role in improving the quality of pilgrim services and infrastructure for the long-term.
Danantara Indonesia does not see this cooperation as merely an answer to current needs, but also as a social and institutional investment that will support the sustainability of Indonesia's Hajj services in the future.
"The trust of the public and our pilgrims is vital. Everything we do strive to ensure better services, strong governance, and tangible benefits for Indonesian pilgrims in the long-term," concluded Djamal.
