Muliaman D. Hadad Receives Lifetime Leadership Achievement Award from The Asian Banker

Jakarta, 21 May 2025 – Prof. Dr. Muliaman Darmansyah Hadad, Ph.D., Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Danantara Indonesia, has been awarded The William “Bill” Seidman Award for Lifetime Achievement in Leadership in the Financial Industry by The Asian Banker (TAB). The award was presented on 21 May 2025 in Jakarta as part of the Asian Banker Summit 2025.
This prestigious award recognizes Muliaman Hadad’s long-standing dedication and contributions to the financial sector. His career reflects strategic leadership that has modernized regulatory and governance frameworks, strengthened financial sector resilience, and expanded inclusive access for all segments of society.
Throughout his career, Muliaman Hadad has held several key leadership positions, including as the first Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) from 2012 to 2017. Prior to his time at OJK, he served for more than 25 years at Bank Indonesia, including as Deputy Governor from 2006 to 2012. He also served as Indonesia’s Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein from 2018 to 2023.
In his current role as Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Danantara Indonesia, Muliaman Hadad plays a vital role in ensuring strong, transparent, and long-term governance in the management of national assets and investments.
In his acceptance speech, Muliaman stated that the award serves as a reminder of the importance of integrity and long-term vision in driving change in the financial sector, emphasizing that the achievement is a recognition of the institutions and professionals who have worked alongside him.
"I accept this award not as a celebration of personal success, but as an affirmation of the values of public service, institutional development, and principled leadership," said Muliaman in his speech.
The Asian Banker Leadership Achievement Awards are presented to outstanding financial leaders whose work has had a lasting impact on the development of financial services at both institutional and systemic levels. Previous recipients include Zhou Xiaochuan (former Governor of the People’s Bank of China), Zeti Akhtar Aziz (former Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia), and other leading financial sector figures from across Asia and beyond.
