Jakarta, 1 September 2026 — PT Danantara Investment Management (Persero) ("DIM") and PT VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas Tbk (IDX: VKTR) ("VKTR"), together with PT Bakrie & Brothers Tbk (IDX: BNBR) ("BNBR"), have signed a non-binding term sheet as an initial framework to explore a strategic investment collaboration to accelerate the development of Indonesia's commercial electric vehicle ecosystem. VKTR, a subsidiary of BNBR, is one of the national pioneers of battery electric vehicles for the commercial vehicle segment in Indonesia.
The collaboration aims to support the advancement of adoption of commercial electric vehicles, specifically electric busses and trucks, in Indonesia through the development of mobility as a service industry or known as MaaS, an integrated electric mobility ecosystem model designed to reduce adoption barriers, broaden access to financing, and accelerate the transition of fleet operators to electric vehicles, including electric bus operators in various regions across Indonesia. The initiative is also expected to further strengthen Indonesia's battery value chain and accelerate the downstream development of its critical minerals sector, a priority sector for DIM.
Pandu Sjahrir, Chief Investment Officer of Danantara Indonesia, said, "Investing in the electrification of commercial mobility is an investment in Indonesia's long-term energy transition that can bring a positive impact to the national adoption of electric vehicles. In line with the priorities of the Government of Indonesia, we see this collaboration as part of a broader effort to reduce emissions, strengthen national industry, accelerate downstreaming, and build the infrastructure of a more sustainable economy."
"This non-binding term sheet is an initial framework. We will undertake a comprehensive due diligence process to ensure that any future transaction is commercially sound and contributes positively to Indonesia's economic development," Pandu added.
Anindra Ardiansyah Bakrie, President Director of VKTR, said, "We appreciate the trust and support, which represents not only a strategic collaboration but also a mandate to bring VKTR into its next phase of growth. Together, we aim to help shape the future of Indonesia's mobility to become more advanced, sustainable, and self-reliant. This marks an important momentum in opening a new chapter for electric mobility solutions in Indonesia, where greater impact can be achieved when complementary strengths are brought together toward a shared national objective."
Through this collaboration, DIM and VKTR reaffirm their shared commitment to advancing Indonesia's energy transition, strengthening domestic industrial capacity, and enabling sustainable mobility solutions that support the country's long-term development agenda. The non-binding term sheet is an initial framework agreement that will serve as the basis for further discussions, and any potential investment will be subject to the execution of definitive agreements between the parties.
