Danantara Indonesia Accelerates Huntara Construction in Aceh Tamiang

Aceh Tamiang, 29 December 2025 — As the year draws to a close, Danantara Indonesia, together with BP BUMN and several state-owned enterprises (SOEs), continues to accelerate the construction of Huntara (Hunian Danantara) in Aceh Tamiang as decent temporary housing for flood-affected residents who remain in evacuation sites. As of late December 2025, hundreds of Huntara units have been completed on land owned by PTPN, located approximately 15 kilometers from the city of Kuala Simpang, as part of the commitment to deliver a total of 15,000 Hunian Danantara units across disaster-affected regions.

The construction of Huntara is supported by the collaboration of seven SOE contractors through the implementation of modular designs that are safe, comfortable, and suitable for habitation. Additional support comes from PLN, Telkom, and Himbara through the provision of electricity, connectivity, and financing, ensuring that the shelters are truly safe and comfortable to occupy, with construction involving both local and national workers.

Danantara Indonesia’s Chief Operating Officer, Dony Oskaria, continues to provide direction to the relevant SOEs to ensure that the construction process proceeds quickly, in a standardized and efficient manner. Each Huntara area is equipped with public and social facilities, including bathrooms, communal kitchens, and prayer rooms, to support residents’ comfort and basic needs.

The construction work is carried out intensively by teams from various regions, including workers from Java and local labor, supported by building materials supplied from different parts of Indonesia. This nationwide collaboration reflects the tangible spirit of mutual cooperation among SOEs in responding to disasters and accelerating community recovery.
