Jakarta, 5 June 2026 — Danantara Indonesia affirms its commitment to ensuring PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) carries out its mandate to strengthen the governance of strategic natural resource commodity exports in a measured, professional, and accountable manner.
Danantara Indonesia understands that the successful implementation of DSI's mandate rests on business certainty, which means contracts already signed may continue to be carried out, provided there is no under-invoicing. Maintaining the confidence of international trading partners and investors is a priority, and every step taken by DSI is designed to reinforce that confidence.
Transition Period: Strengthening Transparency Without Disruption
The Government has established a transition period beginning on 1 June 2026, which will be evaluated periodically in accordance with the applicable regulatory requirements. During this phase, DSI's primary focus is to strengthen reporting and monitoring systems through digitalization. DSI is currently building a digital platform to analyze transaction data on exports of strategic natural resource commodities, so that indications of under-invoicing can be identified objectively and on a data-driven basis. This approach enables DSI to focus its attention on transactions that require evaluation, while the majority of transactions that are already fair may proceed smoothly.
Continuity of Contracts and Assurance of Confidentiality
DSI is fully committed to safeguarding the confidentiality of all commercial information and contractual terms it obtains. Contracts that have already been signed may continue to be carried out, provided there is no under-invoicing. Accordingly, businesses that are already implementing sound export practices will not face obstacles in conducting their business, thereby ensuring legal certainty and a conducive business climate.
Post-Transition: Careful, Fair, and Accountable Implementation
Following the transition period, DSI will prioritize carrying out its role as an intermediary — namely, facilitating and overseeing export channelling, while allowing the commercial relationship between producers and their trading partners to continue. Beginning this implementation with this role is important to ensure that no disruption occurs to the export process for strategic natural resource commodities, while also achieving the primary objective of trade that is fair, transparent, and free from under-invoicing practices. The implementation of this role will be evaluated periodically and measurably, taking into account ecosystem readiness and the achievement of those objectives.
Strategic natural resource commodity prices will be determined by referring to a standard methodology that is fair, transparent, and accountable for each commodity, with the aim of preventing under-invoicing and ensuring that recorded export values reflect actual transactions. The methodology will take into account reasonable adjustments for differences in quality, specifications, logistics costs, and contract structures — ensuring price fairness is assessed in full context, and closing loopholes for manipulation without standardizing transactions that are commercially different.
Seamless Exports and Stakeholder Dialogue
Danantara Indonesia and DSI will continue to engage in dialogue with stakeholders to ensure the implementation of DSI's mandate proceeds consistently and without disruption to the export process. In carrying out its mandate, DSI consistently applies the principles of good governance — transparency, accountability, and integrity — through commercial mechanisms that are fair and measurable.
